Is it worth it to go replica or should I go with the real thing (Rieger)? http://www.bekkers.com/Merchant2/mer..._Code=be36aero | | | 07-10-2005, 06:28 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 677 | I would just get the replica. I was looking into that myself, but I cant really afford it especially to hunt down my color to paint it. No one will probably even notice its a replica...besides look at all the bimmers rolling on replica wheels. __________________ my new world | | | 07-10-2005, 06:43 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 93 | hmmm.... you're looking at $550 for the replica (you've got to add the brake ducts and lower fillers and rub strips) and what's the stock piece running? i dunno, i think i'd go the munich route... __________________ my pappy said, "son, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that hot rod... bmw?" | | | 07-10-2005, 06:45 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | True, the Rieger kits are just too damn expensive!! Now which do you prefer, that one or the E46 m3 style? I like both and can't make up my mind. I think I like that one cause it looks more "original?" However the E46 style looks meaner. ARGGG, decisions Arn't you the girl from Tampa? I think we spoke before on cardomain? It does make it look that much more aggressive. But I know a lot of BMW purists dont like putting the E46 style on an E36.. But I say screw it and dont conform. __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 07-10-2005, 06:33 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Pismo Beach, CA Posts: 500 | And BTW....... I wouldnt waste $99 on the brake ducts. No one sees the brake ducts at all, they are strictly for cooling purposes. I would try to compose a quick set out of carboard and duct tape. Then once you know they fit, I would fiberglass over them, sand em, and paint em with flat black real quick. Id imagine its about 2 hours of work, with a whole bunch of off time in between while the resin dries overnight. I may be cheap, but Id rather do that, than waste $99. __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 07-10-2005, 09:11 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Well.....If I don't have brake ducts now, why do I need them if I change my bumper? And what of the filler and the strip?? I like the e46 look front bumper but I don't care for the rear bumper. Are there any good sites that have body kits out there... http://www.kest-tuning.com/shop/ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
