Question obd1 obd2 obdwho?

Hello all, I just created this account, although I have been active on several other e36 sites. Within the last year I crashed my beloved 328is beyond repair. I am currently stripping the entire care down to the frame, and discarding as little as I can. The original plan was to find another 328is to have direct match, but somewhere along the lines of searching the interwebs like a fiend for a clean low miled example I fell in love with the 318ti. A few of my favorite 318ti on the market right now are 95's. This broke my heart because I didnt want to get involved with obd1, but as time progresses, and I still have no car the 95 option seems more appealing. Is obd1 a big set back for an obd2 swap? Is obd1 less desirable? Would it cost more in certain aspects, and how does it compare to the obd2 in terms of reliability
