1. You need to trick the car into thinking it is in neutral, this is done by connecting two pins on the auto gear selector (easy!). If you like reverse lights, you'll need to wire those up too.

2. The stock diff ratio is 3.45:1

3. In my opion the best choice is the 1995 club sport 3.45:1 LSD diff.

4. The stock clutch works, but it is possible to make it slip if you aren't careful. I'd rather have my clutch slip, than something else.

5. Try UUC or Rogue Engineering for a short shifter. www.understeer.com

6. The early versions (1995) had a problem with popping out of 1st gear, try to get a newer transmission with low miles if possible.

I have the shift fork issue in my '97.

The second post on this page (thread linky) says 5/98 and later won't have the issue.

Thanks for the correction. I have a 1995 club sport tranny and I haven't had any issues. I fabricated a lot of the shift linkage, so it's possible I fabbed up the parts that cause this issue.(?)

Something I've always wondered about that. Do you guys think that cars made after that date, or transmissions made after that date are corrected? As in, the "old" tranny was build in 3/98, but worked it's way into a 6/98 car at the factory.

I wonder what the time between transmission manufacture, and car manufacture is?

Is there a differance between the Club Sport's Getrag and the normal 325/318? I didn't think so, but Dusten brought up his CS tranny, and I never had the pop issue on my CS nor my 97 Ti.
