Default OBC ISSUE

ok, well i got a fun one this time guys, it involves the obc, (11 button glorified clock). Not always, but sometimes when i turn the lights on it resets the time on the obc, other times it resets temp and time, sometimes it turns off both displays and leaves buttons lit up, sometimes it freezes displaying what ever was showing at the time it locked up ( even if you turn off the car), other times it just turns off compleatly and stays off. Now i have tried swapping the obc out for another, it does the same thing, only way to get it out of its lock up is to disconnect the battery ( or eaiser the old pop it out unplug it and plug it back in)
Any ideas?
