Default I think I found my vacuume leaks

I knew my intake boot needed to be replaced. It was tearing at the clamp where it is secured to the MAF. $26 from Pelican parts and a week waiting and I was able to replace it and all the green Electrical tape I was using as a temporary hold.

this one I knew about: As you can see, it is torn about 9/10s all the way around.

After pulling the boot and replaceing it.. I found this one: Which explains why that particular hose kept trying to come undone.

As I undid the other clamp, I found this one:

And then finally, While wrestling with the hose to get it off of the throttlebody, I put my fingers through another hole:

Since replacing the boot, the car has never run so well

What were the symptoms of having so many leaks?

it never stayed running and never started well at all,
b/c of what i thought and what eeryone told me was a clogged cat
i had been searching for a good mechanic in my area that was
able to work on foreign cars and i recently found one. turns out
this was my problem! all that worrying about a 300+ dollar fix
it was this little crack in my intake boot.. that cost me about 50$!!

Mine ran... but it's idle was erratic and sometimes above 1k... then the main split in the boot occured and while it would idle and do part thottle ok.. going to WOT in first gear would be an exercise in whiplash.. the engine would tilt from the torque, which would open the big split in the boot, making the computer think there was no air coming into the engine, computer would shut down the fuel, engine would all but stall and tilt back to normal, split in boot would close, computer thinks it has air again... ad infinitum

OK... gotcha. Mine isn't doing anything like that. I'm trying to figure out why it's been more difficult to start lately. I'm probably going to pop the hood and look at the rubber bits anyway.

Thanks for the description!

Lol @ the green electrical tape. Mine has been held together and sealed with epoxy for the past 9 months! I had a couple misfire codes back then, found the boot cracked in a couple places, sealed it and the codes haven't been back since. A few weeks ago, my neighbor(a Toyota mechanic) comes over and asks me to drive his car(an old Ford Escort) around the block to diagnose his "clutch problem". I get the crazy whiplash in every gear, but the clutch seemed fine. I pop his hood and first thing I see, nice big tear in the intake boot. So I show him mine and now he's rockin an RTV'd intake boot I keep reminding myself to grab one next time I drive past the dealership, but surprisingly the epoxy has held up pretty good.
