My gear shift knob haha. Baby steps I suppose. Also I have a question about the radio, it's late so I can't spend time searching through the forums. I got a new battery in and the radio reset and wants a code. I stuffed up too many times and now it displays 4 lines ---- How do I reset this? Do I just disconnect the battery? Do I leave it disconnected for some period of time? Cheers. | | | 02-06-2013, 01:41 AM | #2867 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Quote: Originally Posted by zoner All of the x-brace installs that I've seen, including my own, are installed like this: with the middle hole on the brace plate left open. My reason for not wanting to drill out and install the third hole was because I didn't want to put another hole in the cross member, potentially weakening it. I'm not sure if that's a particular stress point on the cross member, but I don't want to find out first hand. ** I'm assuming that when you say you "used all six holes", you mean the three holes on each side of the front plate, not the two on each front plate (as pictured) and the single hole on each side of the rear (for a total of six holes/bolts). | I can't believe how clean your engine is! My base ti has a total of 6 holes pre-drilled in the chassis for the front of the brace, so I stuffed all six with blind rivet nuts, then bolted it up. I did have to enlarge the holes to 7/16" to accomodate the rivet nuts. I disconnected the negative terminal and connected it again, now the radio isn't turning on at all. Any ideas? EDIT: Alrighty so I got the radio to unfreeze and turn on, I put in the code and voila! It's alive. Now my next problem is the CD changer doesn't appear to work. When I press 'CD' the screen displays "E-99" and flashes a few times and then goes back to the radio. The CD changer works as I can hear the small motor inside moving about and it also ejects just fine. Is there a trick to this or anything? The manual says the E-99 Error is the micro computer is locked. I held the on button for 6 seconds, the screen flashes once and then it will say something like "CD 01 TRK 01" and flash for 5 seconds and then flash the E-99 error again. Cheers guys. But my underside is probably that clean (or, at least it was at one point... ) I hadn't ever really noticed the exhaust until you pointed it out, James- what the heck is all that wrapped pipe in front of the oil pan? I looked on another forum as well and no hits for that error. This is what the error code means. E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service. I would call around to local car audio shops and see if any of them will open up the changer and clean it out. Chances are it's just something gumming up a micro switch, | Hope you can get it working... Turbo? | It's probably just ceramic header wrap tape, used to try and keep the engine compartment cooler... But why that M3 has such a large diameter exhaust is weird, there is no back pressure with that large a pipe even with a turbo... most likely he is losing lots of low end torque and blaming it on turbo lag... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. Also where can I get the nuts/studs for the intake manifold? We've seem to have one missing lol | | | 02-16-2013, 03:33 AM | #2880 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 27 | Placed in a Bavauto armrest. (Awesome design, no drilling). Stealth bulbs turn signals in all clear euro lenses. Replaced the door molding clips in the molding for the rear hatch. (Ended a vibration noise). Replaced the shift boot. New Bosch wiper blades all around. Replaced a broken antenna mount. Few weeks ago I repainted all of the faded black exterior trim (looks brand new). | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
