Thanks! Love them they made a hell of a difference, the car felt so much more solid, Also the rear subframe was moving about on mine due to worn bushes so they would have helped no matter what! but its a lot stiffer and with the welded diff steps out too easy now haha. Yeah they are power flex too I think the only thing I have left to do is the front arb.

Default Mike's e36 Compact Build Thread

So I received another exciting package yesterday The tyres should be being fitted tonight hopefully if my friend fitting them has time, I got my stud conversion out last night ready, and to try the adapters. the studs were a pain as I had used locktite to put them in haha , but the adapters and wheels fit spot on, really pleased with the quality of the adapters.

Painted my callipers and discs over the weekend as now I have XXRs you can see though them a lot more and the rusty callipers and hub was annoying me. I even got a tiny paint brush and painted the groves and holes in the disc so they wasn't rusty Also painted the tops of the adapters so no one will ever know...
haha a little ocd but kept me occupied

So my friend had a car come in at his work which he called me straight up to see if I was interested in the 328i engine, the engine ran sweet its on 130k but my 318 is near that anyway so I thought I may as well use it and out of a lot of 328s I've looked at for a conversion this is believe it or not the lowest mileage one so far.

The car seemed to run sweet, So we got the engine out in a morning, My other friend who's done this conversion before came along to help me and make sure I got everything needed for the swap.

Once the engine was back at the lockup I set to work and removed all the Aircon stuff as I wont be running it.

I was really surprised at how much all the aircon stuff weighs! I just need to remove the viscous fan now as will be running an electric fan and electric fan control switch. I have a massive list of stuff to buy now, I'm going to replace the clutch, Some bushes and rocker cover gasket etc whilst the engine is out as it makes sense. other than that I just clean a few parts needed for the conversion and gave them a paint.

I also ordered this bush to replace the worn one in the gear linkage after some research online it seemed a good upgrade. and as you can see mine is badly worn and moves side to side a lot!

I'll be going up the lockup after work today armed with a tin of degreaser and a brush to clean the engine up too

I do need to stop by your thread and catch up! That white bush I brought was from the US, and I'm having trouble finding any in the UK I'm trying to find the Gear Selector Rod Seal that goes in to the transfer box as it looks like its leaked a lot of oil, So much I want to replace but just cannot seem to find anything over here
