I just bought a 1997 318ti today! I have been looking at these forrums for a while before I bought the car. I am in love with it. Its Silver, automatic, and has 98,000 miles. Just bought it for $4,300. I was wondering how do these cars drive in the snow? Probably way different than my Bronco..... | | | 09-25-2009, 10:47 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Congrats and welcome. As for snow ability, it depends on what tires are on it. I've driven mine in Minnesota for many years and it's a non-issue with proper winter tires. | | | 09-25-2009, 10:53 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Dayton,Ohio Posts: 10 | Yeah I am really excited! I figured if you drived the car right it would be alright. I love it so far. | | | 09-26-2009, 01:07 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Welcome to the site. Mine was terrible in snow until I got some tires that are good in snow. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 09-26-2009, 02:06 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Dayton,Ohio Posts: 10 | Yeah there are afew things I cant figure out. -How do you turn on the Brights? -How do you turn on the Rear Windshield wiper? -Do the windows always fog up really easy? -Can I just get a spare key made at walmart? Just a few I came up with in the few hours I have had it.... | | | 09-26-2009, 02:21 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | High Beams: Push the left stalk forward. Flash; pull the left stalk back. Rear Wiper: Push the right stalk forward. Hold it for a few seconds to spray Fog: ? Key: You must get it at the dealer as there's a special security chip in it. I just bought a 318ti in the Columbus, OH area about a month ago. This site has been very helpful for me in my first few weeks of owning a bimmer. Also check out ohiobimmers.com to get in touch with other bmw enthusiasts in the area. | | | 09-28-2009, 02:42 AM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Dayton,Ohio Posts: 10 | Thanks for the site! Never worked with two taps in all three of my tis. Welcome and buy some snow tires. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
