Does this mean that particular ti with ASC has an LSD? Do sport models come with an alarm? Also, what unique features do ti's have in comparison to other cars? | | | 01-22-2007, 05:58 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by btonns I was wondering how exactly does the ASC work? Also, what unique features do ti's have in comparison to other cars? | http://www.318ti.org/notebook/asc/index.html The alarm was a dealer installed option in the sport. Only the 95 Club Sport had an LSD. LSD was an option in 95 and part of 96. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-05-2007, 09:53 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Saint Louis Posts: 3 | What type of LSD came with the Club Sports? On the dash, left of the steering wheel, under the vents. __________________ 318Ti Sport (Gone, but thanks for your years of service) | M3 E30 | 190E-16V | M Coupe E36/8 | | | 02-05-2007, 10:10 AM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by Morwan Is it possible to turn off ASC in the later 318ti's? | Button on the left knee panel, when pressed the ASC light illuminates on the cluster to indicate ASC is turned off. This light also comes on when the vehicle is experiencing traction loss. I've found that if you pull the cable on the ASC valve(as if to rev your engine thinking it was part of the throttle body ) the ASC light comes on. On my car it stays on until you either restart the engine or press the button.BTW I have a '97 ti Sport | | | 02-05-2007, 10:13 AM | #6 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by AutoM3otives There's a switch that deactivates ASC. I was unsure of my sketchy response due to all-nighting some homework at the moment. There is a mod somewhere to reverse the ASC switch so it's always off and you press to enable. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-05-2007, 07:25 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Saint Louis Posts: 3 | Nevermind, my question was answered in the first reply, now I know what years to look for. I am still driving my gay little blacked-out Miata. | | | 02-06-2007, 11:17 PM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Saint Louis Posts: 3 | Quote: Originally Posted by campaiar BMW can tell you everything from your cars original build with the VIN. I know the '95 Club Sport came with an LSD, but I was hoping that later sport models had one too.. I don't want to be paying out the nose for a 13-year old car. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
