Recently I dove under the hood of my recently-purchased 318ti because it had a rough idle. I did some research and the culprit was my Idle Control Valve. I cleaned it and put it back together to then noticed there was a hole in the valve and it didn't seal back up properly. I know I need a replacement part but are there any aftermarket examples that anyone can recommend? Bosch is $194.99 and Genuine BMW is $313.00 Thank you guys. | | | 03-14-2015, 07:18 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | This is really "Cheeze Wiz" but when you boost a 318 over 20psi the ICV blows apart. I fixed it with a stainless zip tie and JB Weld quick around the sealing surface, never had a issue since. There are no ICV replacements I'm aware of. Maybe try to fix your current one they are not very hard to clean then glue back together if it falls apart on you. Best of luck, John S | | | 03-14-2015, 01:37 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jan 2015 Location: New Hampshire, USA Posts: 73 | Quote: Originally Posted by xxxJohnBoyxxx This is really "Cheeze Wiz" but when you boost a 318 over 20psi the ICV blows apart. Best of luck, John S | I've found a few replacement parts out there and its really mangled. Unfortunately I'll have to buy a new one. Thank you for your insight. __________________ Instagram: @derek_lit | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
