Default the center consol

alright, so today, while i was getting carl's jr. for lunch i got real irritated. when they game me my food in the drive thru i tried to put my drink in the cup holder. AND IT DIDNT FIT! its like back in the day they didnt have super sized cups compared to today. does anyone know if its possible to change out the center consol to have bigger cup holder cuz the only thing that fits fine are coke cans or water bottles. i aint a fatty but damn i like to have my drinks handy without having to worry about it spilling....

Do you have sport seats? If so pull the knee support out and it should stay in place in your lap. This is the first car that I've succesfully been able to keep a drink there and shift without it sliding out and spilling on the floor.

that sux. On the super super size cups at a lot of the places I goto, the bottom tapers to "normal" size which allows it to sit in the front cup holder despite the rest of the cup being oversized.

yeah, but it usually tilts cuz its soo huge, haha. i think the center console on pelicanparts.com would work. its looks a bit bigger but im gonna see if i can find it cheaper on ebay first.
or even an armrest off some other BMW

Default Funny You Should Ask

I realized that problem awhile ago. This is my fix. When I swapped in the armrest, there was a square area where you see my cup holder. I cut it out and installed this cupholder I got from BavAuto. I then cut out the base, and removed the extra carpet below. That gives me plenty of depth. Now I need to build a base that sits flush with the bottom. The picture doesn't show the base cut out. Just like you, the base of this cupholder held one of those styrofoam coffee cups....USELESS

Many hours playing with this idea, but in the end, it will be exactly what I want.

It won't fit some of the designer water bottles, but it fits those big gulps that are tapered on the bottom. The arm rest is OEM from the dealer. I'll take a picture of the inside soon, it has no bottom.
