 Swap door lock or install remote locking?
Picked up a thrashed 318ti and finally bought a used drivers side door. The new door did not include the key, they wanted another $100 for just the key!. I looked at the DIY for swapping out the cylinder... looks like a PIA. So I was thinking I should just install a key fob system. Saw one one Ebay for $150. I read that getting the existing door rekeyed is $$$$, and not worth it. I dont mind carrying around 2 keys, but I thought 100 was a bit much. I'm going to see if the dealer can make me a key from the VIN and see what they would charge for it.
