Probably the same place where we came up with the number of Club Sports.

Fact is, the california roof is an option.
BMW does not keep track of options.
That's like saying, how many cars came into the country with power seats.

I think that's actually the number of "California Editions," which is different than just the ti with the cali-roof, the California Edition was only available in 96

540 might be from my sig, but actually 540 is the number of 1999's imported, so I've heard.

I've guessed that fewer than 5% overall were imported with the cali roof. IIRC the total import was 22,000, maybe 25,000. So by my estimate, fewer than 1250. That guess is from looking at Autotrader, Cars.com, ebay and here everyday for a 2 year period 2005-2007.
