Default Low ET wheels on the Ti - Fitment question

Hey Gang,
I searched through all the wheel threads and I "think" I know the answer to this but I want to be sure.

I have a nice set of 17" x 8" TSW Hockenheim wheels that are in an E30 M3 fitment (ET20 I believe).

I see that some people are running ET20s on their cars but they have to roll the fenders which I don't really want to get into. Most of them also seem to be running wider tires than I would want / need to run.

My car now runs 205/55-16s on factory Sport wheels.

I'd love to put on the Hockenheims with a set of 225/45-17 Conti Exrtreme Contact DWS (this is a commuter car) because I already own both things (wheels from an E30 M3, tires from one of my Audi's I just sold).

Since I already own the wheels and the tires it would be great if I can utilize this combo on the Ti,,, but I am betting that this will not fit without rubbing.

Susupension is simple Eibach sport springs over Bilstein sports.

Thoughts?

I run BBS RC090's with a -20mm offset, and yes I rolled the fenders on both ti's. I run 215/45/17's, and I can tell you that the 225/45/17's will not fit without serious fender rolling.

Perfect. Thank You. I really appreciate your reply.

Being an E30 M3 guy I have loads of E30 M3 wheels and I was hoping I could re-purpose something that I had already, but thats too huge of a difference. My brain told me it would be the case after reading all the back threads about the E39 fitments.

I will source some E36 based wheels if I want to run 17"s.
I really like the way the stock E36 M3 wheels look on the Tis anyway.

Thank you again for the reply and the confirmation.

Happy to help. It works in my favor to run the e39 fitment, as it helps with clearance for the coilovers I have on both cars. I have to run spacers when I put my Kosei's on for track days (running 255/40/17's).

If you were near by, I have a set of DS1's I could sell, but I'm sure it would be prohibitive to ship them to the east coast... Many ti owners really like the way Contours look on the ti as well, same with the Style 67's from the e46 330i's.

Agreed on all 3 of those choices. I think you hit all three of the BMW wheels that I think re-purpose onto the Ti the best.

255 / 40 is a lot of tire on that car. Must stick. So 255's are possible on a Ti?
I never would have guessed that. If those are Hoosiers that thing must turn in like velcro

Lol, yes, it's a lot of tire and it's a tight fit, but they work great. 255's would be serious overkill if the car didn't have a 24v swap... I am currently running gForce R1 comps for track, and I have to practically force them to break free.
