Default Air vents in car problem

Just got a 318ti compact 1996 and when I turn on the fan for the heater nothing seems to be blowing through the vents I can hear the flaps moving when I turn the directional knob on the heater controls on the dash but it seems like the vents are blocked or somthing any info would be a great help, thanks.

sorry if this is in the wrong thread just join the forum

check your fuses, i had the fan stop working while driving in this Texas 104 degree heat and lucked out with a simple blown fuse. Havn't had a problem since.

If you drive at a reasonable pace 50ish Mph without the circulation button pushed on does air still come into the cabin?

Thanks for your reply, the fan actully works and I dont have a circulation button on my car or air con, dont really need mutch air con in U.K it just seems when I put the fan on there is no flow coming though the vents or very little flow like if somthing is blocking them, ie:like if someone was squeezing a pipe to stop the flow of somthing,I just wondered is there a filter within the vents that could be blocked anymore info would be a great help
Thanks

just trying to cover all bases here, but do you have the knob set to blow out of the windshield defroster or footwell vents?

Yeah I've turn all the knobs and everything, I also have owned other BMW's before I used to have two E30's but this is the first E36 I've had so it seems to have a few extra things going on ie: I was talking to someone else about this and they said are the filters in the vents blocked as my old E30's did'nt have this I was wondering if it was that, but where are these filters if my car has them.
thanks

here's a walk-through on replacing the filters:

I've honestly never heard of them getting so clogged that they blocked airflow though
