It is posted in the Off Topic section so you have to be a member to look at it. But basically i said in another post that the new M5 is one ugly looking car and a couple people bashed me cause i said that and cause i have a 318ti. Basically saying you shouldn't be talking look @ what u drive. So i posted a poll want you guys to vote on it. It says which looks better a stock m5 or a stock 318ti. Yes the new m5 is nice but as far as exterior it is one ugly bmw. I'll swap that engine in my car in an heartbeat. Wish i had the link to the person that has done this. But back to my poll, everyone thats a member there should vote on it and throw in ur 2 cents. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 10-27-2005, 01:09 AM | #2 | doesn't care about you. A VERY tastefully modified 318ti may be better looking, but the M5 looks much more aggresive. They are so completely different cars, that it's hard to say. A bit off topic, but on another forum I said the Corvette had inferior interior quality vs. BMW. A guy ripped me and pretty much said since I owned a 318ti, I had no idea what I was talking about. | | | 10-27-2005, 02:31 AM | #4 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I'm just saying the m5 looks ugly and imo the ti is much nicer looking. I'm not saying this cause i own a ti i just think the new m5 looks horrible, the side shot is the worst part. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 10-27-2005, 02:03 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: NW of Chicago Posts: 111 | I say the ti looks better than the new M5. It might look a little bit dated but the new M5 design looks like its not finished to my eyes, as far as the exterior. | | | 10-27-2005, 02:10 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I still see nothing wrong with the E30. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 10-27-2005, 02:18 PM | #7 | doesn't care about you. It's like comparing a Civic hatchback to an NSX. I think the new styling is classy. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 10-31-2005, 06:04 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | dude TI's are much nicer! well at least i like the TI better, but im also biased since i own one... __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 10-31-2005, 07:22 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | I'm not a fan of Chris Bangle nor his designs. As for doodmeister on bf.c, remind him that ad hominem is the "poor man's" argument. Furthermore, your basis on the aesthetic quality of cars is based on your eyeballs, not what you yourself own; i.e. anybody with proper vision can be a judge. Lastly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . . unless she's fat, leaving no where to get around her. Literally! But I spent all day last Thursday driving a new M5 including 300 miles on back roads in NY, MA, and CT, ending with about nine laps at Lime Rock including 130-mph dives into the braking markers entering Big Bend. There's nothing ugly about the way that car moves! Seriously though, it's comparing apples to oranges. The M5 is a sedan, while the ti is, well, a compact. I actually agree with the Honda analogy, it's like a CRX compared to NSX. The ti may beat out the M5 in economy, the M5 can take it in handling, acceleration, braking, ride quality, and it's got that nifty "Track Mode" button...whereas the ti has . . . a hatch. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but I'd take a '90's-early '00s M5 any day. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
