If you have ready access to them, why not mount them and find out first hand??

They fit. The E-46 has a different offset in the rear, so you ought to use four fronts

The later E-36 M3 wheels are "staggered." I know that they weren't staggered in MY '95, but I don't know for sure when that changed (I think '96).

I had my ti set up 3 ways (all fronts, all rears, and staggered) and liked the handling better with all fronts. The car pushed (under-steer) like a pig with the fat tires on the back and skinny ones in the front.

The best way to get a set of fronts is to buy a set of five OEM wheels from an M3 owner (3 fronts, 2 rears - the odd front was the spare) and then trade the two rears to someone for two more fronts.

OBTW, I've got a set of 5 M3 wheels for sale...

As above mate the wheels u asked about at the start are E36 wheels..18" 225 will fit easily with no probs at all and on the standard suspension with no mods..(although i spose it may depend wot suspension urs came with as mines the m3 factory fit as its a "sport m package")
I run E46 rims that are staggered and are wider than those, on the factory fit suspension no probs..(sometimes get a slight grind on full lock but its very very rare full lock is needed anyway)
Hope that makes sense!! Either way just bite the bullet an stick em on...worry about the probs after!! As long as they sit the hubs properly ur sorted (make sure they do sit properly..i destroyed my last compact as the wheel came off on the motorway...not pretty!)
