YOu should have taken the 1500 it was a good offer unless youve got a rare model...

there are several for sale on the forum running in good shape... For about 4k and you would lose the hassle factor...

Well, it's not a rare model, but it's been a FL car all it's life and has a spotless body and undercarriage. NO rust at all.. The problem that bothers me at this point is I bought it for $3K, put about $3K into it so far, and now this happens - I want the car to drive for at least a year so I can get my money back. $1500 just isn't worth it to me, I can sell the seats and the wheels for more than that alone.

Cars are MONEY pits... you never get what you have into them back.
My point is that right now you have a car with a bad motor. With a bad motor the car is worth maybe a grand or two, Heck, you'd probably be ahead to just buy another one and transfer your good stuff over.
If your interior is good its not uncommon to find a cheaper car that has a bad interior. for a good price...

If it was me I'd find a low mile 318 motor and have a decent little privateer shop drop it in... It will cost you about 1100 to do that.
Or spend the 2K to have a shop do the head for you.... on a mostly worn bottom end that will toss a piston about 15K miles after the head is done...

Good luck!

Dave
