Cars are MONEY pits... you never get what you have into them back.
My point is that right now you have a car with a bad motor. With a bad motor the car is worth maybe a grand or two, Heck, you'd probably be ahead to just buy another one and transfer your good stuff over.
If your interior is good its not uncommon to find a cheaper car that has a bad interior. for a good price...
If it was me I'd find a low mile 318 motor and have a decent little privateer shop drop it in... It will cost you about 1100 to do that.
Or spend the 2K to have a shop do the head for you....
on a mostly worn bottom end that will toss a piston about 15K miles after the head is done...
