Default My new (old) 318ti

I just bought a 1998 318ti yesterday and I am very excited. Overall it's in great shape. I has been resprayed, and it's peeling in spots. The engine leaks a little oil and I will be taking care of that next weekend. But all of the electronics work and I can't wait to get it on the road as my daily driver. I have Bilstein Sports and springs on the way along with drilled and slotted rotors. It's going to be a great car. More pics to come. Just a little about me... This is my second BMW. My first was a 1970 2002 that was a rust bucket. It smoked and smelled, so I made a project out of it. I ditched the engine and trans and adapted a KA24DE Nissan motor in it. No I know some people may not like it, but like I said the car was a bucket and not restoration material. I also owned a Datsun 510 with an SR20DET. I just sold that car so thought I could by a better commuter... and in walked this 318ti. I have plans for a motor swap or this car too. But this time it will be a proper S52 swap. Ryan

welcome, nice looking car, any pics of the '02? I love swaps with non-BMW engines just because they always get the purists panties in a knot

Yeah the KA isn't bad for a truck motor. I loved my SR, it's actually pretty bullet proof and good right out of the box. Anyways... Thanks for the warm reception. I can't wait to get working on her this weekend.
