Armrest from M3 318...Will it work in a 318ti?

I wanna install it in my 1998 318ti with leather seats. I do not have the sport package or the M3 option. If I put the insert between the seats, and remove my cup holder/parking brake insert, can I make it work?

i tried using one from a 95 M3 but had no luck it won't fit good when you match up the cup holder/parking brake insert from the M3 to the center/shifter console on the ti. maybe someone else has had better luck.

I did a search on the armrest and read alot of interesting comments (ie. cupholders, and changing armrest console). I have bought this armrest from a '95 m3. I know most of you that have an armrest was bought from a dealer and made for the ti (I'm wishing I'd done the same now). But...I am hoping someone will tell me that I can make this work. Thanks.

The arm rest itself is the same for all e36 (bolt pattern is the same). The console is different though; non-ti console has a different shape in the front so it won't align 100% properly with ti dash but it does "fit" ("fit" as in it can be installed and be functional with minor cosmetic problems).

I am also not sure if 2/4 door versions of the arm rest console have the same shape.

as above.. if you can get the TI console from dealers thats ur best route.. the major cost is the rest which is compatible.... mine is great
