What are the I & II buttons for? Can I program either to roll the windows up? Thanks | | | 11-24-2008, 10:01 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | I don't think that is a stock remote. It does not look like either E36 remote I have seen. Pre 96 is rectangular with 3 buttons, Post 96 is blob with 2 buttons. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-24-2008, 10:58 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri I don't think that is a stock remote. The buttons are Unlock and Lock/panic. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 11-25-2008, 02:00 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by xxxJohnBoyxxx Does the OEM E36 remote have a option button to roll the windows up? | I have the 3-button, it's lock/unlock, arm alarm and panic, you can roll the windows up by putting the key in either lock and turning it all the way to the lock position | | | 11-25-2008, 02:52 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak I have the 3-button, it's lock/unlock, arm alarm and panic, you can roll the windows up by putting the key in either lock and turning it all the way to the lock position | Too hard to walk out there with a key I'm going to try to figure out how to do it. I know it's possible since I can do it through the carsoft program. Just need to figure out what I & II activate on my module and patch it to the DME | | | 11-25-2008, 03:19 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Maybe contact Autotek the manuf of the remote and (probably) your aftermarket alarm? My guess it is for car #1 and car #2. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 11-27-2008, 05:14 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | I did some reading and the Autoloc system I have and it is a 4 channel. Channel 3 locks the car and 4 unlocks the car. Channel 1 & 2 are open to activate anyting I want. I'm going to dig in and make channel 1 windows down and 2 windows up. I might need a module to do this but I'm pretty sure I won't since if I wire it in the window switch on the auto up wire the car will think the switch was pushed. I will have to have windows power hot when the key is out of the car for this to work but that's a easy fix | | | 12-24-2008, 08:42 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: Minneapolis, MN Posts: 3 | Do you have an aftermarket remote start? I used to have a Toyota with one and pressing I and II at the same time would start the car. | | | 12-26-2008, 01:40 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by znine Do you have an aftermarket remote start? I leave my car in gear sometimes and the kids could grab the keys and run it through the garage door. Plus I like the EWS active...No key no drive. I know you have been busy with your Metric Motor. Chris from Understeer.com (previous owner) must have wired it (there's lots of elec. tape around the keyless receiver under the pass. dash.). | | | 04-06-2009, 04:38 PM | #14 | Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: norcal Posts: 34 | Try holding down button 3. (or whatever you use to lock the doors) that rolls up the windows on mine. If you look online I think you will find the manual for your remote (klx550 I believe) | | | 04-06-2009, 05:37 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | My after market alarm/remote does roll up windows and sunroof. I have the manual and wiring diagram somewhere, I can send it to you. Quote: Originally Posted by xxxJohnBoyxxx Too hard to walk out there with a key I'm going to try to figure out how to do it.
