It's the same as the engine oil. You would change it when you change the oil in the engine. BMW thinks that you can go 12k miles on a single oil change, but I would never do that.

Unless you find a good source, I found it locally cheaper but it took some digging...

I think they are waiting for C.A.R.B certification, that takes a while (and is really expensive from what I've heard). __________________
