Thanks for the heads up...no pun intended,
With rergards to special tools are you refering to the flywheel locking pin and the cam indexing block or are there others. Have done several headgaskets on other cars, twin cam Alfa, L16 Datsun etc. M44 looks about the same but I guess I won't know for sure till I try.

Yes those were the BMW specific tools. There may be a couple more, I'm not 100% certain. It sounds like you're well qualified to do this job
