Help - Gauges inaccurate readings, Crank no Start issue

Hey all - New Years,

I placed a battery in my 95 5sp, 116,000 after not having one in it for 4 to 5 months, the car has not started in over a year and been in outside storage for 4 yrs., with periodic starts the first few years in storage. Last time it started, I replaced the fuel pump. The car would crank and start briefly before stalling. So, I noticed a rusted 3rd coil pack slot and wire corroded and fired. However, the other day when I placed a battery in it - the gauges started blinking off and on - gas, abs, brake: It rained the night before. The blinking and gauge movement become normal after 30 minutes and after I disconnected the battery post several times. Can anyone give me a clue on the gauge erratic movement and/or the not starting issue? I've had the car for 10 years and have not chg. the fuel filter (yet) Any help would be welcomed...
