If the state DMV database doesn't show its VIN pattern, they'd probably refuse to register it, and I'd have a very shiny paperweight. I am VERY curious whether you have registered this car in NY. - Eric | | | 11-29-2014, 02:00 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | NY has the UN and the many embassies so these folks are exempt and many times they bring odd balls that get sold without proper paperwork. | | | 01-13-2015, 01:29 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Mar 2013 Location: Pelham, NY, USA Posts: 90 | 2002 TI So research I have done so far, is you can bring them over but it could cost a few bucks. Would need to bring 3 over to make it OK money or break even. | | | 01-13-2015, 01:34 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Mar 2013 Location: Pelham, NY, USA Posts: 90 | ANy people in NY area Would like to get together with 2 other people Found shipping company Found some german cars, also found right hand drive english ones I think German would be easier to for resale. Anyone think this would be fun also? They seem pretty cool and would like a newer one with more features. | | | 01-13-2015, 04:05 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Hudson Valley Posts: 229 | I'm not your man, but I do like the idea, and would be very interested in learning how this goes, in case I would ever want to do something similar in the future. - Eric | | | 01-14-2015, 02:34 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | These were never brought into the country so how do you plan on have them crash tested? The require this if they are less than 25 years old. | | | 01-15-2015, 02:28 AM | #11 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by M-technik-3 These were never brought into the country so how do you plan on have them crash tested? It can't be as simple as buying them in Europe and having them shipped over, or someone would already be doing it. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! Sorry just my $.02 I did bring an E30 touring back a few years ago via Canada. Their laws only require 10 years. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
