Default another key fob problem

well I went to ebay and bought a key fob for my 97 ti, and when I got it I looked up the instructions to reprogram it. (the door opening ****), and got the red indicator light to come on and everything, but it wouldn't read my key fob. so I looked at the back and its the same FCC ID, but different Serial No. and part number. Does it matter on them numbers? or is it just the FCC number? Also the key fob I bought doesn't say BMW on the back of it like my other one does. (my old one no longer works. I got it wet one day)

EDIT: Could the key fob I bought be for an older BMW ti? Or should it still work?

my keyfob:
FCC ID: A269ZUA111
Part NO. 82 11 1 469 448
S.N. H70243153

The one I bought:
FCC ID: A269ZUA111
Part No 88035AC230
S.N. H80948298
