These precision machined bushings replace the original flimsy rubber bushing (which degrades over time) at the front of the aluminum carrier. Round Bushing work with all '86-'04 BMWs except 328, 330, '95+ M3, '95+ M5 and 5-series, Z3, 8-series. Works with budget and aftermarket SSKs. | | | 08-10-2006, 01:07 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Very cool. I take it you have numerous sets? I was planning on eventually getting the UUC ones, but this would be a much better deal. | | | 08-10-2006, 01:18 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | I can order as many as I need. just waiting on my OE part to come in on friday so I can get the size right on the delrin order. | | | 08-10-2006, 03:15 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Berlin, Germany Posts: 258 | How easy are these to get to to swap out? __________________ | | | 08-10-2006, 04:01 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | When doing a Selector rod, or SSK not very hard. replaces part #2 | | | 08-10-2006, 06:59 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Halethorpe, MD Posts: 1,028 | Yeah. I've attempted on three different occaisions to remove that clip. There's write up somewhere on the interweb. Search for "bitch clip" and you should find it eventually. Personally I think the only realistic way to do it is to remove the driveshaft. It's really difficult to get your hands up there and you have to do it all by feel. | | | 08-10-2006, 07:36 PM | #7 | doesn't care about you. When I did my tranny swap I replaced this clip with a nut and bolt combination that is incredibly easy to service. I also fabbed up my own bushings for shift linkage mounts because the stock ones are semi-sloppy. So understand what you are getting yourself into if you decide to replace the bushing. Many 318tiers have spent frustrating hours trying to access this clip. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 08-11-2006, 11:49 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Quote: Originally Posted by bullmand Yeah.
