Default Auto shipping recommendations?

Hey all -- need to transport a vehicle from Louisville, KY to Northern California. Any recommendations? Dis-recommendations? Any advice in general would be greatly appreciated. Prefer enclosed transport if that makes a difference.

From what I understand, most "shippers" seem to be just brokers, and there's a lot of hanky-panky going on...

Much obliged for any input :-)

I shipped my ti from Florida to Seattle. I think I used"uship.com". It's like you say though, they are a middle man for a bunch of independent contractors. It was easy though. Input what it was and the contractors bid on it. Then you can contact them and choose one or none, the site has reviews as well. The folks that dropped off my car did seem a little shady. (There was a local rep that delt with me. I don't think the driver spoke English.)

That said though, everything turned out fine. I had no complaints. If I remember correctly $1300 for the load in 2013. Pretty sure you can request a covered truck, but price probably goes up substantially for our hapless little TI's.

Good luck. Buyer beware, it's a stressful thing.
