Default First Post-Swap Track Day

I had a track day at Mid America Motorplex (Council Bluffs, IA) last weekend. This was the first event after swapping in the S50.
All was good once we got to the track; my fuel pump crapped out on me in the middle of nowhere. 3 hours and $250 later we were on the road from that mess. NAPA to the rescue! I didn't manage to get many pics, just some paddock shots.

The car was fantastic on track. As predicted, the car oversteers on command and is very easy to trail-brake rotate. Brakes were an issue again. 325 brakes just aren't up for the task, so I'll be mounting a Stoptech 332mm kit up front. I was on Nitto NT-01s, 235/40/17 all the way around. Once they were scrubbed in and heat-cycled, they felt amazing. Passing E46 M3's is a pretty good feeling!

At my house, 1 day before leaving. (yes, it's that low in the rear)

Paddock area, stickies on

I just don't understand how vented rotors are not enough.
What pads and fluid are you using?

How are the brakes not up to it?

my vented brakes were great for track days never had a problem and have never felt any brake fade.

What width Pro race 1.2s are you running? 8? ET 33? ET 40 with spacers?

Wheels are Team Dynamics PR 1.2 17x8 et40
I have Goodridge Stainless brake lines and Motul RBF600 fluid. Hawk HT-10 pads and ATE rotors. Fade/overheating isn't the problem - I'm bending the pads and backing plates into a mild "u" shape. As the backing bends, pad material cracks and falls off. This is the same problem I had with the stock setup. 1-piston calipers ftl...
I still have the pads, I'll snap some pics

I don't know. Plenty of people race with single piston brakes.
You sure you not letting off the brake too late or are you braking at the last possible second?
Are you doing DEs or racing?
Maybe you need ducts?

No w2w racing, just DE's and I'm trying to get into some NASA TT's.
I do threshold brake where I can. I ease into the brakes, too - no jamming or anything. I don't have inner fender wells anymore, and the brake debris shields have been removed. In other words, the brakes get plenty of air over them. I've only had this problem at MAM; Brainerd International and Road America don't give the brakes any grief. Whatever. Stoptechs are the shizz, anyway

edit; The red GTO in the background has the OZ wheels off my ti.

The JTD underpanel and brake vents seem to be getting pretty good reviews and the price is not that bad. I would definitely say that is cooling related.

I've also seen other people have issue with the HT10 pads. I run them, and have no problem, but I'm sure the oversized rotors and much larger pads help with the heat. You might want to consider something like the PFC'01 pads or some carbotech pads. They seem to be better in high heat situations.

And personally I am doing away with my RRT cooling ducts unless it is very hot.
I think I have a cracked rotor due to too much cooling.

Holy smokes... I might have to rig something up if this is the case.

Normally I cover my ducts with tape until later in the day. I lost a weekend at VIR and an autocross at the BMW Performance Center due to my what I now believe, cracked rotors. Now that I replaced my rotors my steering wheel doesn't shake out of my hands when braking after 15 minutes of driving. At first we though it was worn upper strut mounts.

That's funny because until H3_2.1-ti pointed out your TD PR 1.2's, I thought they looked just like my OZ SuperLeggeras but in black. Beautiful car BTW, I'd love to see some action shots of it next time!
