Question Hydro dipping?

Sorry of I'm in the wrong place here. So I was browsing around the local junkyard and I came across a 97 318ti just like mine. Oh glorious day! My car has the sand grey interior with all the black trim pieces. I'm not a fan of all the black everywhere I don't know why it just hits my eye wrong. I pulled out all the vents and all the black pieces from the junk yard and got out only spending a fraction of what one piece would be new.
I plan on hydro dipping them with a woodgrain film or using that 3m laminate I've seen on eBay. Has anyone used either or both? I don't want it to look tacky, I want a luxurious look to my car but don't want to spend a ton. I bought the extra parts so I have the originals in ase I don't like it. Thank you for your time.
