Strange A/C problem Just bought another ti (old one got wrecked, not my fault) and am in the process of driving the car from Florida to Saint Louis, MO. I have been driving about 80mph the entire time, except tolls and pit stops. Everything was working great for quite a while (maybe 3 hours or so). I was running the fan on the lowest speed the whole time. I turned the A/C off (both compressor and blower) for a second while stopping to pay a toll (wanted some fresh air). When I turned it back on the blower fan developed a problem: basically no air was coming out of the vents regardless of blower speed (a tiny amount did trickle in though, and it was cold). One of two things was happening: Either the fresh air vents were not open therefor the blower fan could not push any air into the car OR The blower fan was not working at all. I'm unsure which was the problem, the road noise made it difficult to tell if the blower fan was spinning or not. The problem lasted a miserable 45 minutes or so. At my next fuel stop i checked all the fuses for the A/C. None were blown. The pit stop lasted an hour or so while I ate lunch. About 10 minutes after I got back on the road the whole thing started working exactly as it should. Since then (300+ miles) I haven't had another problem! Any ideas or likely culprits? Thanks for reading this long rant... -ian |
