Thumbs up Closing Your Car Windows With Your Key

I saw this on another site and it just reminded me of it. Did you guys know if you put your key in the drivers side lock and turn it and hold that it rolls up all your windows even your sunroof. Just thought i'd share that with you guys who didn't know about it. I read this in my manual when i first got my car,the lock even heats up in the winter time to unfreeze, which i think is cool.

For some reason I always thought that was an e46 thing. Thanks for the info.

You can use either lock driver or passenger...I don't think I ever tried the hatch, but it should work since it is a central locking system....

If I am not mistaken VW's go up and down depending on the way you turn your key...I wish ours would roll down aswell for those hot summer days when you want to cool the inside before getting in...

You learn something new everyday with this car .... just tried it and it did the windowd AND the Cali top ... thanx ! This'll really help me keep those window buttons from fading, I always ride with my windows down, and this makes it so much easier !!!!!

If you have a "5" or "7" series BMW it will roll them up also. The other thing most BMW owners dont know is you can push in on the turn signal stalk to change the OBC.

i know for a fact this used to work on my car, but it stopped working around 36k (or, 84k miles ago) probably around the time my brother slid the thing into a guardrail.

i probably just need to reattach something, or jiggle a wire somewhere, but does anybody know of a place to start? i don't want to remove the glovebox again because the rattles drive me insane, and take forever to get rid of.

OBC= On Board Computer, and I did know that. If I remeber correctly, the different options are time, temperature, MPG, and how many miles are left until you're out of gas.

Thumbs up

ahaha! I never knew this either! I remember that my botfriend's VW Corrado did this and wishing that mine did, too. I've always used my keyless entry and never thought to try it out!
