Anyone else have a lot of wind noise coming from the windshield area? I have a bunch from what seems to be the top of the windshield. The windshield is not factory, so thinking the replacement was installed poorly. I'm trying to think of what I can do to help this, short of installing a new windshield, with brand new seals. | | | 01-11-2006, 11:25 PM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | The flat mirrors make quite a bit of wind noise, but you say it's from the top of the windshield, so... Yeah, I guess you need to re-mount the glass, or perhaps the top trim is loose and the air gets under it at speed, but it lays flat when at rest?? | | | 07-26-2007, 10:32 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Lisboa Posts: 6 | Quote: Originally Posted by CirrusSR22 Anyone else have a lot of wind noise coming from the windshield area? I've been on a quest lately to make my car quieter. I started by replacing a "new" alternator that whined (under warranty) with a remanufactured one that was silent; and getting back $125 in the process. I plan on getting rid of my Ireland Engineering urethane subframe bushings and putting new stock one back in. I also decided to figure out this wind noise. I just put a 2" wide strip of masking tape across the top of the windshield, and that seemed to have fixed it!! All I can hear now is noise from the sides, which I'm guessing is the non-M flat mirrors. I never heard the side noise before, because the windshield noise drowned it out. That's my next goal..... I guess I'm getting old becuase I'm getting sick of the "rough" riding Bilstein HDs, the loud urethane subframe mounts, etc.... | | | 02-13-2009, 01:11 PM | #7 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! I'm first gonna go crazy with the masking tape and see what I can do | | | 02-13-2009, 07:19 PM | #9 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT!
