I just thought it might be a good idea since most of the members doesn't go to car show or other meets too much. This is an opportunity for everyone to meet each other. This is informal just for hanging out and eating. Open to all 318ti members and friends if they want to come. One suggestion is at Chili's in Braintree, MA. This is close to south shore. Let me know if people want to meet up or can't make it. Post it up here on the thread. Open to suggestions and dates. I was thinking for meeting but let's plan it atleast for a week in advance so everybody can arrange his time. Anyway Braintree is a perfect location from me, it's just 10 min from my home. At chilli's, the parking lot is very small and busy, and I don't think we can enjoy our cars like we have to. I think that Bugaboo Creek House Restaurant is much better choice because there is really huge parrking lot with may be 1000 parking spots and no any cars. Check out the website: http://www.bugaboocreeksteakhouse.com/index.htm You can find the address in maps.google.com and you can se by yourself the big empty parking spot around. The picture is even old. Now it;s even bigger... So let's arrange a meeting before the weather goes bad. Tell me what do you think | | | 08-17-2006, 06:04 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Boston, MA Posts: 1,152 | Good suggestion tol4o! I tried Bugaboo Creek House Restaurant in Braintree a few times and it was good. Any date(s) we want to plan a gathering. Post something so we all can agree on it. Tell me about it each day is getting cooler and people keep on mentioning that summer is almost over. Nooooo!!! | | | 08-18-2006, 04:38 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | I think the best day would be any of the next few Sundays. I guess most of us are off Sunday. 7pm is too late because it's getting darker earlier and ealries with every passing day. A launch meet (let's say around 1-2pm would be better. We would have more time to look at our cars on a day light. We gonna make some pictures and videos which can be posted in 318ti.org later. I guess most of the members here would be happy to see some media from a 318ti meeting. | | | 08-18-2006, 06:57 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Boston MA Posts: 221 | I was just at that Bugaboo Creek Restaurant last week with my wife and kids. That huge parking lot is going to be fun. We should ask Juni to come and check out his car. I maybe able to ask my car buddy who also has a ti to come too. We are attending a Mazdaspeed driving event this weekend at Weymouth Naval Air Base. __________________ 1998 BMW 318ti M-Tech Sport Silver (Gone to member leeko617) CURRENT: 2015 BMW X1, 2004 BMW 330ci Convertible, 1998 Porsche Boxster, 2001 BMW 525i Touring GONE: 2000 Audi A4, 2002 VW Passat, 1985 VW Cabriolet | | | 08-18-2006, 07:00 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | Heh I am going to mazda test drive too LOL. My car buddy "s_control" on this forum is on for 8:30am session. We decide to bring our two ti there very early and play around in the large parking area of the Naval Air Base. So look for my silver ti and the red one of s_control. I am from Quincy, he is from Randolf. __________________ 1998 BMW 318ti M-Tech Sport Silver (Gone to member leeko617) CURRENT: 2015 BMW X1, 2004 BMW 330ci Convertible, 1998 Porsche Boxster, 2001 BMW 525i Touring GONE: 2000 Audi A4, 2002 VW Passat, 1985 VW Cabriolet | | | 08-19-2006, 05:35 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I would meet on a future date. But to be fair to everyone, MA is not central. I'm on Long Island, so Westchester County NY or Western CT is more reasonable to me. I think that would be better for the NJ members as well. Maybe we can plan a bigger NE meet for MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ, etc. if people are interested. I've attended a few for other car clubs at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos before. This might be a good cental location to accomadate most NE members. | | | 08-21-2006, 08:13 PM | #11 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Quote: Originally Posted by michaelhofastcar I signed up for Sunday 8:15am the first session. If so there is no chance you'll be able to screw around in that parking area. I went to it the last time it was there about 2 1/2 - 3 years ago when they did the last one. The only way to do it is take one of the side roads off the base and screw around with your cars. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 08-21-2006, 08:23 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | You are right Tyler, we were there, but together with us were a lot of local police cars and only they could screw around . But atleast I burnt the tires of 270HP AWD Mazda speed 6 and RX-8 on a track. I have never pushed any other car like that. In the end of the day 2 of those mazdas were out of the game hehe. They were only at 200 miles and already screwed up... cute Check this one for the small ti meeting pictures: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12106 | | | 08-21-2006, 08:27 PM | #13 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I read on there site it is free...
