Default 98 318ti w/ spt pkg & CA roof

1998 318ti with sport package and California roof, manual, mill-point interior, titanium silver. 114,585 miles

(We live in the metro DC area but would be willing to transport it within about 250 miles.)

My husband got his new one series last July and his 318 ti is just sitting in our garage, taking up my parking space. I'm ready to sell it and reclaim my real estate. I suspect if left up to him he would never sell it, as he wants it to be "just perfect" and probably really doesn't want to part with his precious toy. He did give me permission to sell it if I would do the work, so here it goes.

All reasonable offers will be considered. He has his suggested price and I have mine. Somewhere in the middle would make us both happy. Make me an offer!

These are some details he provided:

It’s fairly close to stock. It has the little black M3 front strip installed on the front air dam, the m3/convertible x-brace installed under the front suspension, a lighted shift knob, z3 1.9 shift lever (slightly shorter than the stock one but not crazy short like all the aftermarket ones are) euro intermittent windshield wiper module, supersprint exhaust. it is also currently wearing four 7.5x17 m contour wheels (authentic) but I also have the stock sport package 5-spoke 16” wheels. That’s about everything that’s not stock.

It needs a little bit of work, but I have tried to keep very good care of it.
-it needs new shocks (still has the originals on it)
-small crack in the windshield
-driver door window regulator still works but it is sluggish and probably on its way out
-the black rubber trim around the rear windows has degraded and I understand the rear windows need to be replaced to fix this
-it got a scrape around the passenger-side rear wheel arch pulling out of a parking garage and this was “fixed’ using touch-up paint. It looks OK from a few feet away but it really should be repainted to look perfect.

I once had a very minor fender bender and the front hood was repainted as a result. There are absolutely no door dings. Up until I got a new car around 8 months ago I always parked it in a garage. Paint is really good except for the usual stone chips up front and the aforementioned touch-up.

It got a new transmission at around 80k miles on the CPO warranty; new clutch and starter motor around the same time. Battery is brand new this past October.

Tires are Michelin PE2 225/45/ZR17 and they only have a few thousand miles on them, brand new – the passenger side rear has been going flat occassionally -- need to check on why, I suspect a bad valve stem. I will get this fixed before selling if you can wait a week or two.

Interior is very clean. CA roof works perfectly.

It was a Ultimate Drive for the Cure fleet car originally and I bought it used from the dealership with 11,000 miles on it. The good news about that is it was very well maintained for the first 11000 miles and everything that could have broken from it being driven hard originally I’ve already replaced.

I’ve always done oil changes with bmw synthetic at half the recommended interval, and I’ve done brake fluid flushes, transmission and differential fluid changes, etc. regularly.

Never used as a track car.

Also comes with a set of snow tires mounted on the original wheels as well as a car cover.

Any other questions, send me an e-mail!

Barry wants $6,000. He will have the wheel fixed and replace the tire in question, as well as finish his detailing job.

I, however, am flexible if you are willing to take the car as is. Make me an offer!

Here are some exterior shots I took this afternoon. I'll get some interior ones tomorrow. Anything specific you want, let me know.

It's always good to include a photo of the drivers seat. Be sure to include the left side seat bolster because that spot gets more wear than any other place in the interior.

It's also useful to have close-up photos of any blemishes (scratches, dings, rust, etc.) so that potential buyers can factor in the price of repairs.

It looks like a nice specimen... good luck with the sale!

That was quick.
Be sure to tell them about 318ti.org.
I remember when Barry first got that car.
