First there was no sign of life from starter. Then I've switched chip from donor car key to mine and starter is working (so I assume EWS - DME - Key is algned?)! My problem is that there is no spark and no fuel pump reaction. What I'm still mising? Also I don't have one round connector close to fuse box.So ths from the engine wiring harnes is unconeccted. Any help, plase ! | | | 10-25-2008, 10:44 AM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Poland Posts: 26 | No reaction, so I try this: Could OBD-II engine to OBD-I chasis swap be done? I've read posts all over, and found that there is only OBD-I engine to OBD-II chasis instruction. My 318ti is from 10 october 1995 M42, how could i check which OBD it is (did OBD I had EWS II like mine has?). Help please, I cannot sleep | | | 10-26-2008, 12:14 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I believe the OBDI to OBDII is a lot more difficult than keeping it the same or going back, if it's a 95 model year it's OBDI | | | 10-26-2008, 12:40 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Regensburg, Germany Posts: 584 | __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 Turbos are great!...Especially the higher mileage m42's & m44's...A BUDGET setup should be good for atleast 400rwhp...I was running 60psi on stock internals and homemade parts... | | | | 10-26-2008, 10:31 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Poland Posts: 26 | Great, thank you !! Now I need to be sure that my M52B28 is OBD II or maybe I, since I bought it without papers i don't know from which year it is seller claims that it's from 1998 but I doubt it. on wiring there is "lieferdatum 06.09.95 20:35". I spoke with friend, and he told me that easiest way to recognize OBD is connector - round one in engine bay for OBD I and similar to rectangle for OBD II located in cabine - is that true? If it's OBD I to OBD I then i don't have to do extra work with wires? I found out that I have OBD I engine. Is there anyone who made M52B28 OBD I ('95 or '96) to OBD I 318ti '95 ? Engine cranks but no spark and no fuel, and I'm running out of options. I've made horrible mistake connectingo G117 ground to battery positive. I've reversed it but could I fried my ECU or some fuse? maybe there're some differences in x20, or I need to add UNL (I cannot find one in my car or the engine harness) ? ECM an Fuel pumo relays are not kicking in, there is only low voltage on them (2 or 6V). | | | 11-05-2008, 11:03 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Poland Posts: 26 | Engine spoke to me !!! Problem was simple, no positive for ECU . If someone needs x20 pinout for 328i 96' to 98' and 318ti 95' (i couldn't find it on internet and it took me 4 hours to make them from ETM)then I'll post it later. If it's question, I don't know, after long reserch I assume my '96 M52B28 is OBD I and '95 318Ti also (or both are OBD II). 318Ti had very accurate MPG readings, after swap it's much to low. Is there any way to correct it? | | | 11-29-2008, 11:53 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | a 96 is OBDII and a 95 is OBDI, just noticed you're from Poland though, so I might be wrong | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
