Default Engine immediately turns off after being ignited???

Hey guys,
Just ran into a problem with my car today.
It was running fine, then pulled it into my garage and parked it.
On my way back out, I started the car and it immediately shut off. Tried it one more time and it happened again. Any ideas of what this could mean/be? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

so is it starting and then dying, or just not starting at all?

Does it die immediately or is there a bit of struggle, then death?

My first guess is fuel delivery, but there's not a lot to work with here. Any other symptoms? This can happen in (very) hot weather. Just give it a little gas until the idle clears up.

It starts then immediately shuts off (with the littlest struggle). However, if you give a little gas before it dies, its good and can idle. No hot weather or anything like that. Dont know how else to describe it, but if you guys have more questions, please ask and I will answer them. Thanks in advance for your help.

Did it have a slight rough idle before?
Has the fuel filter ever been changed?
Check if any of the vacuum hoses are not connected/leaks.
Good luck.

I have the exact problem one day after i work in my motor and the problem was the air flow meter, i remove it from the intake and not connet it again, so also chek the air flow connectors and look for air leakbefore the air flow meter

Just looking at posts...irealized that i had the same problem about a week ago.
It happened to me twice. I started the car, then after a few seconds the car just rev down and turned off. I took it to some guy close by my house who works on bmws and he told me that the air intake hose had a crack on it and the air to the engine might be leaking out or something like that. so....well he said with labor and parts it would be about 125.
I would like to know if anybody knows what part is this (i dont much about cars...sorry....and the guy said it was something that looked like an accordeon..???) and about how much the part would cost if i were to buy it. Also teh guy told me i had to replace the main belt....anyone knows how much or where to findout how much this parts cost?...
thanks for the help
