A little stiff - much stiffer than the old, worn shocks - but just right for me. I drive into Mexico to work everyday and the roads there are not the best. The HD's have the perfect ride for me both there and in the US side where the roads are much better. I am glad I went with the HD's and kept the OE springs. The added height is not too bad. It is noticeable to me because I was used to the car with the old shocks but no one else has noticed. It does allow the yellow/blue struts to show from a side view. My next upgrade will be to change out the old swaybar bushings for urethane bushings both front and rear. I'll also upgrade the swaybar endlinks from rubber to urethane if I can. I'll keep the OE bars since they work well for me and my daily driving. They were the standard shocks. not HD or Sport. I could match his pricing locally with no effort. Note the Ti was available with a rough duty suspension option that used the HD shocks and thus the higher rider for rough roads. If you can hook me up for HD Bilsteins for the same price that would be great (318ti man date 5/95). My sport Bilstein shocks for my 325iC vert where yellow just as you said. Any help appreciated. I just noticed you where in Cocoa Beach, been there often while working at Patrick... | | | 07-12-2005, 05:21 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | let me see what i can do So far HD = Sports in price... but quality is the same, minus the sports are shorter. | | | 07-12-2005, 01:15 PM | #20 | Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: florida Posts: 30 | Thanks thanks | | | 07-12-2005, 04:20 PM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: San Francisco Posts: 308 | holy ****!!! one of the advertisers, www.allshock.com has the Bilstein PSS 9 coilover kit on sale for $959!!!! zoinks!! | | | 08-26-2005, 06:26 PM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Quote: Originally Posted by donslade One thing I did notice: the car now sits about 15mm higher in front and 9mm higher in back. It is just a '97 Active (ABS, ASC, sunroof, etc.). I like the Bilstein HD's. It is definitely a stiff ride, but the sports are supposed to be up to 30% stiffer. I don't think I'd like that for my daily driver on the roads around here. | | | 08-27-2005, 05:36 AM | #24 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Quote: Originally Posted by donslade No, it does not.
