Default Please help with interior lights issue :(

Guys,
the footwell lights stayed on after locking the car, messed about with the door and managed to get them to go off..

I dont think its the door switch because when I push it in when the lights are on and the engine is running they stay on.

What I need to know is........ are the wires going to the door lock in the inside of the door panel anything to do with the interior lights?
When you lock the door the lights should go out, so does this happen through the wires inside the door:
(Basically what is this wire for??)

Im thinking when the window was fixed last year the wires were possibly caught when the new mechanism was put in and they are catching when moving...
