We'll see. Getting the part from rendoll (thanks man ). This is my "weekend" at work, which means I get to work both jobs. I'll probably tear into it Sunday afternoon if the weather's nice to see how it mounts and such.

As for a KB write up, we'll see. I hate writing and such, but I'll make sure to take pictures and I'll think about it.

But they don't do things that are thought possible.......Like cruise control
Well, atleast mine doesn't have that option. Oh well. Not like I need it. Love keeping my rubber to the pedal.

Got the actuator replaced. It works now, but the damn pin is broke. Why the hell did they make that pin out of plastic? And from the pictures on RealOEM, it looks like the pin comes as part of the actuator, so no buying it separately at the dealership. Crossing my fingers that Rendoll still has it (and it's not broken). If not, I guess I'm going to start hitting up the junkyards for E36's.

Since nobody has mentioned this little trick, I'll share even though it's not as cool as closing the windows with the key.

Open your hatch. Find the switch that turns the courtesy light off when the hatch closes and depresses the switch. Notice that when you push it in, the light goes off, and when you let go, the light comes on... just like you'd expect. Now, PULL on that button, feel it click into an extended postion, and watch the light go off and stay off... until you push the button or close the hatch.

This feature may be in the manual, but I figured it out when I replaced my switch and opened up the old one to see what was wrong with it.

I knew my old (99) VW did the window key trick but i never thought to try it on the Ti! Thats cool. I guess. I always roll them up inside anyway haha. Do they roll down in the unlock position too?

My fuel door lock doesnt work, but my fuel door needs to be replaced anyway, it just kinda flops around all limp as is.

Any other cool secrets about my car i dont know about?

The light I'm referring to isn't in the hatch, it's near the passenger side brake lights, but on the inside. It illuminates the cargo area when the hatch is raised.

I think that's the one Josh is talking about, if by "in the hatch" he just means it's in the cargo area

I think my cargo area light only works when i have a door open.. If i just open the hatch it never comes on but sometimes i notice it is on, i think when a door is open. I need to research it more.

Just learned a couple new things myself, not sure if they're common knowledge.

The sunroof (if you have one) can be opened completely. If you do the 1-touch open, or hold the switch down, it stops with about 1" left covering the opening (at least on my car), hold the switch down again and it will open a bit further.

Also found out that the window and sunroof switches work even after turning the car off and pulling the key out. From what I can tell, they work until the driver's door is opened. So if you forgot to roll your windows up or close the sunroof, instead of putting your key back in and turning the car on, you can either use the door lock feature to close them, or simply hit the switches.

Oh, working on the regulator write-up, but a friend is in town this weekend for a wedding and we're going to do some drinking, so don't expect to see it until early next week.

what reg write up? we have quite a few reg fix threads and how tos are you doing a replace only diy?

and yeah its a cool feature, i think it wont let you do it after about 1 or 2 minutes

also if the car is off you can press the odo reset button and it will show the miles... kinda handy at some places

Need more sleep. I meant the fuel actuator, the piece that locks the fuel door when you double lock the car.
