One option is OBDI conversion, but that means more money, otherwise, get a shark injector or w/e it is with ews delete.

Find an independent shop that has a MoDIC.

Ive called TMS and Bimmerworld, both say the EWS delete is only part of the M3 shark injector... or they were not sure.

They said I should contact Jim Conforti directly to see about that.

I asked about the dealer having a MODIC, they said they used to do it with GT2 or something like that... so I really don't know, I don't trust my dealership, they have to have a way to do it, they probably just don't understand. I mean if someone comes in with a faulty EWS module, do they expect you to buy a new DME too??? like really.

I find it hard to believe that your dealer cant do it or doesnt do it anymore. What are the people who need new keys, dmes, etc. going to do when they need to be aligned?

yeah gt1 software and interfaces will work too!

ever think of the carsoft interface with carsoft 6.5?

runs about 120 on ebay and the popular seller is actually located somewhere is canada.

i have the interface and software but i havent spent enough time on setting it up on my computer.

I'll be very interested to hear if you are able to align it yourself. Hmmmmm...

What your dealership is telling you is crap!!! True, BMW are in the process of introducing a new diagnostic system to all dealers at the moment but as far as i know all dealers including the one where I work are still using GT1, DIS+ and the SSS for programming and coding, as ISIS (the new system) has not been officially released yet. EWS alignment can be done on GT1 or DIS+ (newer version of GT1). It literally take about 2 minutes to do, I do it quite often still. Even still, the new system will be able to do everything GT1 or DIS + can do, and more! Id be having words with your dealer againg. Or try another dealer.

well the only dealer even remotely close to me is 60 miles... after that, im looking at hundreds of miles, if not 1000....

I don't believe they cannot do it either, i think buddy fed me a load of crap, i figure it was just the service advisor who knew nothing about what he was saying.... and when he explained it to one of the tech's while i was on hold, im sure he didn't quite get the point across. Ill be calling back tommorrow.

But that will still cost me about $350 to get it towed and to do the work ($110 p/hr rate at my dealership) ...

Ive been on the phone with TMS and have emailed Conforti about a shark injector with the EWS delete feature similar to the M3 injector.... if he can not help me, ive already been talking to ActiveAutowerks and they can do it for $100 over their typical "tune" price, and I wanted to get it chipped anyways, so I might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

but i have a question for you EWS buff's while your looking.... when I turn my key to the "on" position, the fuel pump does not prime... It turns over, but i get nothing out of the fuel pump... does this have to do with EWS or did i blow a fuse/relay??? I know it won't spark without EWS, but I don't know about the fuel pump.

well it won't be "cheaper" but ill basically be getting it tuned for $200 +/- over what it would cost to simply realign...

Im not comfortable with just deleting it, but I think Ill forget about it quick if I get a few HP out of it

$399 + $100 (for ews delete) + shipping + tax for AA tune
$369/$400 + shipping + tax for Conforti (thats if he will do it, and do it for the going-rate of a typical injector)
