Default What is the LED Bar Graph?

Hello everyone,

I have read a couple of past posts about the LED bar graph that shows up in the instrument cluster and learned that this shows the oil life. However, I have recently changed my oil and that has not restored the left-most green light and the yellow one that used to be on.

My questions:
1. What exactly does this bar graph indicator really mean?
2. Should I be concerned that the two lights haven't been restored after having an oil change?
3. Where is the easiest/cheapest place to get a manual so I don't have to waste your time asking dumb questions?

Thanks for your time,

Mike

P.S. My ti is a 1997 (manual)

here's how you can reset it

I wouldn't be concerned about it, I've never reset mine, I just keep track of when to change my oil on my own

I once took it to one of my mechanics, and he reset it with some computer it had. And I noticed that it would deduce every couple hundred miles until the bars would run out after 3,000. But when I reset it with the paper clip, it deduces by every 3,000 miles. Does the peake tool copy the paper clip method, or the comp. method?

I personally memorize when it needs changing. So I'm not worried. But it would be nice to have that feature.

The reset tool is like what your mechanic used with his computer.

I reset mine every time I change it. It's not a big deal at all. I take a jumper wire, ignition on, to the manufacturer diag. port(round black thing with a cap near the brake fluid resevoir) under the hood and bridge 7 and 19 for 7 or 8 seconds and it resets the light. You don't need some tool or w/e, just a wire, or a paper clip. And about that paper clip method deducing every 3000 miles, etc. I believe they're just bridging pins either way.
