Maybe I can just buy the rings seperate. __________________ 1995 BMW 318ti | | | 08-22-2006, 02:23 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I think any lights that did not come on the car from the factory are technically illegal. Whether you will be stopped or fail inspection, is another story. I have clear corners which are illegal because I don't have amber reflectors. That is the least of the reasons why cops stop me. As long as lights are aimed properly and not obnoxious, you usually have no problems. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 08-22-2006, 02:46 PM | #5 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by proudTIowner Id like to know if these are illegal | You'll get a much more accurate answer if you consult your local/state DMV (or even a local police officer) than you'll get from folks scattered all over the country/world. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! One time I got pulled over for having a neon blue light around my licence plate. I was told by the state trooper that green was the only color allowed and blue, red and pink werent because only police and fire trucks are only allowed to use those colors. __________________ 1995 BMW 318ti | | | 08-22-2006, 03:08 PM | #7 | doesn't care about you. In WI, it's amber in the front and red in the back....that's it. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 08-22-2006, 05:42 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 885 | Thankls to God in Puerto Rico the police not look that details, they only look for illegal racers and super loud mufflers, but the ligths, reflectors, neons, tints etc, nop, they not look that, i think the spend more time looking for dounuts or some beers at the bar.... __________________ BMW...MY NEW TOY Mods: Some plastic parts, ///M Wheels and me | | | 08-22-2006, 05:45 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | Those are illegal and completely ugly. If you want angel eyes buy the rings and forget the crystal corners. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 08-22-2006, 06:35 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Greensboro, North Carolina Posts: 77 | Quote: Originally Posted by DustenT I don't think you can have green either. I do think its rediculous how they have restrictions for colors. I could understand if the lights were flashing. __________________ 1995 BMW 318ti | | | 08-22-2006, 06:36 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Greensboro, North Carolina Posts: 77 | Quote: Originally Posted by SDKmann Those are illegal and completely ugly. The rings are pointless, really, you want the euro buckets because the light beam is much brighter with the projector beam. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 08-22-2006, 09:31 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | they look hidious. They don't know squat and will guess. (They are NOT required to be motorvehicle code experts.) I got this from a cop BTW.... You need to contact a person in your state that inspects vehicles for his job. IN my state there is a special office of the State Patrol that inspects reconstructed vehicles and frame swaps and such. They usually have the complete vehicle code at hand and I've always found them to be helpful, they are usually "car guys" because nobody else wants the job....
