So far i can feel an increase of power and an increase in engine response. It feels like i've gained between 5-10hp over stock mostly in the mid range. the car pulls smooth and quick between shifts at WOT. I had the exhaust installed with no resonator which in the long run i may regret since it already has the attention of most police since its red and tinted. The exhaust is loud, but pleasant to listen to. It has a very deep tone at idle and at normal engine load up to about 3500rpms. under normal load up to about 4500rpms there is a little rasp, but nothing to write home about. at WOT there is alot of rasp, but again its not obnoxious. under deceleration the sound is very nice and deep there is not popping or spuddering what so ever. thank goodness. The muffler looks fantastic and the tip although its a built in 4" tip it looks wonderful and fits the outlet cutout on the bumper perfectly with about 1/4 inch space on either side and 1/2 inch space on top. overall i would recommend this muffler. if your looking for quiet you may want to choose another muffler or purchase a model that comes with a baffle. i also recommend a resonator to quiet up the exhaust. | | | 03-01-2011, 10:49 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: hartford, ct Posts: 61 | | | | 03-02-2011, 02:56 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | Pics would be good as well. And I even still had the resonator on! I just couldn't bear the noise levels at freeway speeds | | | 03-02-2011, 08:49 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by zoner Hart to tell for sure, but that sounds a lot quieter than the Magnaflow that I had on my ti. I had a 2.5" Magnaflow on my car and it droned bad on the highway with the resinator, drove me nuts I do like his sound though I went to a 3" flowmaster with two 3" resinators and it is great now, 3" all the way from the turbo back. Nice and quiet until I get into it | | | 03-02-2011, 09:09 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: hartford, ct Posts: 61 | There is definitely a nice hum while driving on the highway. I've had exhausts on nearly every car i've owned so i guess i'm used to it. I do think a resonator would help alot, but there was just no place to put the thing, atleast so says my exhaust guy, maybe he was being lazy. I know its loud enough for people to notice and by people i mean the police. I'm hoping to be a little discrete by keeping the car at low rpms when i'm just cruising. I also don't drive it like a stole it too often. It is a magnaflow series muffler. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=9329 | | | 03-02-2011, 09:11 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Sep 2010 Location: hartford, ct Posts: 61 | im glad you both like the way it sounds. I don't think my cell phone is really giving it justice, but its all i have for the test to show people. next time i have a friend over ill get a better recording. Johnboy, Thats a mighty large exhaust, just about perfect for a turbo setup i'm guessing. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
