I've been shopping for a decent Hellrot Clubsport for a while now and my eyeballs have been bleeding. The search is frustrating. So, I've dabbed into another German car, the VW. A craigslist ad popped up in my area for a Diesel Rabbit that had been sitting for a while and so I made arrangements to look the car over. I ended up buying it. 1979 4 door Rabbit diesel L Last road use was in 87 Interior is going to get gutted The purpose of this car is to have something I can take on a roadtrip and go the distance. __________________ | | | 09-24-2013, 07:02 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Philly Posts: 605 | good to see it getting some TLC rather sitting in there making friends with all the dust and dirt particles | | | 09-24-2013, 08:58 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | It was making friends with 50 other european cars under the same dust and dirt particles. Good to see the older car put to use. | | | 09-25-2013, 06:26 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | Nah....no veggie here. I'll stick with diesel. I'll have enough trouble just making it road worthy within a few weeks. __________________ | | | 09-26-2013, 07:50 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | Don't those things get around the same MPG as a Prius? Makes you wonder why the Prius is such a big deal 30 years later... Nice car. Way better than a Prius __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! It'll take some work to achieve that but it's not impossible. __________________ | | | 10-08-2013, 03:17 AM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: Melbourne FL Posts: 6 | Looks great! Posts: 26 | Those diesels are noisy and like to leak oil, but are so economical and last a long, long time when properly cared of. Let just hope the diesel system isn't full of fungus. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
