I am really pumped right now. After what seems like weeks of nothing working right I am finally getting a few things sorted out. The other day, I changed out my trunk switch and the remote started working just like it should finally. Even though the dome light went off and on with the switch the switch was still faulty for the alarm. So today I went out and was finally able to program the remote I bought from FamilyTruckster. I followed the programming instructions and lo and behold the new remote is working great now. Then just for a laugh I double locked it and checked the gas door and it was locked. All this time I thought it was broken. Anyway some of you guys are doing much cooler things like engine swaps and body mods, but it still feels good to start getting some things sorted out. Cheers! | | | 09-07-2011, 12:49 AM | #2 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Sweet man. Doesn't sound stupid at all. Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference and make you love the ti all over again. Most of us bought our ti's used with over 100k miles on them. It just takes a little time to get all of the bugs worked out and the car to your liking. Familytruckster is a good example. When he first got his ti, he was running into problems after problems. He didn't give up though, stuck with it and now he's strarting to like the ti. | | | 09-07-2011, 01:02 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Sweet to hear bro. So you were having troubles with programming an OEM remote? What was the issue? I'm buying a used remote for mine this week. __________________ | | | 09-07-2011, 01:14 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Michigan Posts: 183 | Thanks Jess, your right I like the car again after my victory. Platanos, no problem programming the remote once the alarm system was functioning properly. You just can't do anything when you just keep getting 3 chirps. I just remembered now I have to go check the auto window rollup feature again. Awesome, I love fixing stuff! | | | 09-07-2011, 02:14 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Glad it's working for you! I spent a lot of time trying to get mine working, trying to program it.... Then found that the car had the older 3 button remote alarm....DOH! It's the little things. I just pulled mine apart and replaced a few broken clips on the door panels. Less rattles make the car much nicer to drive. __________________ No more ti. | | | 09-07-2011, 03:34 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Michigan Posts: 183 | Now to get after that check engine light. I got carsoft working and cleared the codes and need to scan it again and find out what needs replacing. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
