I looked over out the side window and saw i was approaching the ONLY tree in the area, I attempted to hit the breaks but the car back tires hit the grass and i side whipped into the tree. Suffered minor head injury but the TI was not so lucky... Here are the pictures to follow (ti viewer digression is advised). http://s901.photobucket.com/albums/a...0318ti-%20RIP/ So I wanna know what you guys think I should do, the motor and everything work perfectly but the body and side back are damaged, I really dont have money to fix it so basically i either part it out, sell the whole car, or buy a second TI and swap the parts. Looking at the damage, you're better off starting over and using this one for parts. | | | 03-02-2012, 09:19 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: Morristown/Waldwick, NJ Posts: 151 | Sucks to hear man. These days most of us have more time than money so how much body work have you done before? If you like the car and don't want to replace, or can't find a replacement. Start by taking all the broken parts off. If the structure (frame rails) are bent you may need to take it to a body shop with a frame rack and have them rough it in. This shouldn't cost more than a few hundedrd dollars. The rest of the body work is more for looks than anything else. Get yourself a porta power and a body hammer and start working the metal. You should be able to get most of the 1/4 to within a 1/4 inch of where it was before. At that point it's all body filler. This is tricky the first time but if you mess up you just sand it off. The other option to save it would be to clip it. That would need to be done at a body shop and involves finding another ti with a good rear and cuting it off and doing the same with the damage of yours. Yes repairs may run close to what you could find another ti for. It appears there are some bargins out there on ratty or ill maintained ti's, good luck. | | | 03-13-2012, 06:30 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | Sorry to hear about your loss.
