I'm another new guy, This is my first BMW and 318ti...I bought it tuesday off my brother, who i believe used to be an active member on this forum... I just dont exactly remember his username... he said it was Knach or somethin like that... Fell inlove with the car first time i saw it and wanted to buy it off of him since I got my license and finally got the chance... It's a big move from my last 2 Dodge neons, but I needed a stable car and I'm proud of what I got... Luckily cause I'm family I got it for a steal of $800... But I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and learning about the Ti's Will post up pics of what the ti looks like now | | | 12-31-2009, 07:15 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | welcome, I'll probably figure out who your brother is when I see the car | | | 12-31-2009, 07:23 AM | #3 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Nach 318ti? I'll take some better pictures once I get her in the car wash and clean the salt off... There's only a small rust spot/hole under the back left window... infront of the tire... after snow clears im gonna patch it up... and I have a quick Question... I was backing out of my driveway and was pulled into a snow drift... and had to be pulled out... only place we could find to hook to was the FSB... fortunatly didnt really have to pull much... but I fear that it may have pulled the bar slightly... First question is Where would i hook a chain too incase if i got stuck again... and when I was pulled out the rear bumper cover fell off... I put it back on and it kinda seemed to pop back into place... im not 100% sure if thats whats its supposed to do | | | 01-05-2010, 02:23 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | there's a little square cover on the rear bumper and a removable piece of the molding on the front bumper next to the front plate, you pull it out and then screw the eye-screw that should be in the tool kit under the trunk carpet into the hole did the entire bumper cover come right off? it shouldn't do that, there should be 4 or so big bolts behind the molding holding it on | | | 01-05-2010, 07:32 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: State Collage, PA Posts: 58 | lol Figured out the Screw eye thing... it was just laying in the trunk... i figured it out after i read the manual.... I got bored lol... and yeah... it just kinda poped off... which is prob a good thing.... atleast nothin broke... thats the importaint thing.... How fragile would the 5speed trans be after 200k miles... my synchs are goin out in first... it'll grind unless your next to a dead stop.... but yeah... Brother's father-in-law owns a local trans shop... they can get the stuff to replace it... but were unsure of the stability of the trans... they didnt wanna pop it out and like break a spring or something... just for an example | | | 01-05-2010, 10:50 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | when you're driving on the street there's really no need to downshift to first, I always just use 2nd unless I'm at starting from a complete stop | | | 01-06-2010, 08:29 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Quote: Originally Posted by wolfnacht lol Figured out the Screw eye thing... it was just laying in the trunk... i figured it out after i read the manual.... When I start the car... as normal the Rs would jump then drop, then idle... but when I start the vehicle when its cold or way below its normal operating temp. it'll start.... Rs will jump then drop and stall... I don't know if its from running Cheap gas... or if the one Vaccum hose on the TB is that dry rotten and needs replaced (hose has come off once before and was causing idling issues for my brother at the time) I greatly appreciate all the help guys... browsing through here and what little advice i have been givin directly has taught me alot about this car. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
