Default Go fast guy with a 318Ti

Hey guys! It looks like this is a great forum with a lot of helpful people as well as information. I am a big car guy but this 98 318Ti is my first BMW. I have owned the car a week and love most everything about it.

I live in Indianapolis, 22 years old... Looking forward to being an active member here.

A few cars I have built owned in the past:

1994 Mustang GT - 331 Stroker, AFR heads, Vortech YS trim, Tremec 3550, Griggs GR40 suspension. 12.06 @118 1/4 mile

1988 Mazda RX7 Convertible- LS6/T56 swap 551hp/606tq 11.08 @131 1/4 mile

I just parted out the rx7 to buy a house so the 318ti will be my daily driver for now. In a few months I plan to start gathering parts and eventually do an lsx/t56 swap in the 318Ti. I know there is one on here and another guy that just did an LS2. Seems like a great swap because I love the car and the looks but hate the power

I know there are some other options power wise but the lsx is the cheapest and most affective way to make 600hp and be reliable.

Looking forward to being a part of the forum.

Chris

I can't find any build thread on here... I understand if you would rather not share info, I can respect that.

I swapped the rx7 so a large percentage of that stuff should apply to this. I was just looking for something to read about some of the specifics.

Did you use a swap kit or build you own mounts? What does your car weigh after the swap? Ever had it to the track? I am curious as to performance... Is you ls1 stock/

Thanks...

What does a stock 318Ti weigh anyway?

Have you tried searching the Engine Swap sub-forum for threads started by Bluebimma? You could also make a similar search at bimmerforums.com.

I think his only thread is on BF.C, if you search for "357ti" you should be able to find it
