It was a 98 328i. I loved it, but almost could never enjoy it, as there was soooooo much controversy over it. From people harassing me about my wheels to them sending thieves my way, to me staying away from local meets and get togethers. I'm now void of all the fake friends that were around me, so I figured I'd pick up another BMW and stay off BF.c. Here's what I found: A 97 Boston Green (Wow, no surprise there) 5speed with just over 200 on the clock. I like it just as much as i did the 328. No, i dont track nor race, so NO Swaps or big HP plans or otherwise are planned. however, a lil bit low/wide and slow will happen just need some time as the parts are beginning to flow.... Very slow, but a start none the less. The 318ti is looking like a great candidate. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 06-23-2013, 11:52 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2013 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 27 | You sir, have good taste. | | | 06-23-2013, 11:54 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2013 Location: The Town Posts: 27 | Thank you. Still have the wheels (but changed the center color) and the CF Euro DTM Mirrors. I'm still lacking some pieces here and there, before I start throwing things back on. While you guys are here... I'm trying to find out what the "Active Package" is. My car has cruise, sunroof ..... What depicts an Active? | | | 06-24-2013, 12:09 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | Do you have a link to the mirrors? I want a set! Or, if you decide to sell yours.... __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 06-24-2013, 12:19 AM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2013 Location: The Town Posts: 27 | No link, sorry. And like 99% of what I kept..... They're NOT for sale. I looked for years to find the right set. Bad enough these were custom made for a RHD E36, and as rare as thise are, these are even more rare. if i have something i like, i won't sell. Hence why that car was constantly going through attempted break ins. | | | 06-24-2013, 12:26 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | I understand. Those are hot mirrors and will bolt on the 318ti perfectly. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 06-24-2013, 12:41 AM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2013 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 27 | I've been doing some research on the differences between models also. Here's what i've found. "Each market had variations of each model. In the United States there were three models to choose from in the 318ti line. The Base ti was the entry-level model. Then there were two packages that could be added to the ti: the Active or the Sport. These packages added various features, such as larger wheels and tires, and optional leather interior, to increase the comfort and handling of the Base model. Also in 1995, the limited edition 318ti Club Sport was produced. For 1996 the Club Sport disappeared, though most of the body and suspension pieces were made standard on the Sport model. It was in 1996 that the canvas top, California Edition, had its limited run. For 1997 the Base, Active and Sport models continued, while the California Edition was discontinued in favor of having the canvas sunroof as an option on the other models." Active models had cruise, on board computer, sunroof etc etc 96+ sport models had M body kit M badges on the doors (outside) Larger sway Bars Siffer springs Stiffer Shocks .6" lower Sport Seats Leather wrapped shift knob 98 models came with vented front rotors? Someone more knowledgeable please feel free to update/amend this. My car came with cruise and roof , but no M style moldings etc... Later years had vented, but to upgrade you'd have to change caliper cariers. I got drilled sloted rotors instead. Your 328 looked sick and i agree about the mirrors. Who made them?
